Referrals
Prior to the Young Person arriving at the accommodation, the referring LA must notify FSCS initially by telephone
and followed by fax of the information and a RISK assessment of the Young Person who requires accommodation within 24 hours of receipt of referral.
The referring LA must provide the name of the Young Person, their ethnic composition,
language spoken, estimated time of arrival and any other relevant information.
FSCS ASSURANCE
- No Young Person will be refused accommodation on the basis of race, culture, religion or disability.
- FSCS Staff will allocate a Key Worker for the Young Person.
- If the Young Person is an asylum seeker or unaccompanied minor, FSCS will expect relevant
copies of Home Office’s Paperwork and other relevant documentation supplied by the referring Local Authority.
- The Young Person will be given information, explaining FSCS’ role in the process of providing support for him/her.
- Each Young Person will be given an Induction Pack, including house rules.
- An initial meeting will be arranged within one week of the placement to outline the needs of the Young Person.
Emergency Referrals
Emergency referrals are accepted by our Emergency Duty team, Mondays to Sundays, 24 hours. At all times, sufficient information must be available for a risk assessment to be carried out either written or over the phone.
